Atmosphere
We found the restaurant's outdoor patio dining area to be very relaxing--out in the evening air looking out at children playing on the beach and watching the waves roll in while the sun sets over the water. An added feature (or annoyance, depending on one's perspective) is the strolling musicians that are willing (for a cost) to serenade diners at their tables!
Service
Good friendly service, and very much more professional (attire and demeanor) than I expected from a restaurant on a patio next to the beach. Exceptional: Waiters perform when serving specialty items like the flaming coffee drinks.
Food & Drinks
First thing first, the margaritas were some of the best I've had and very strong! Next appetizers: The staff served our party several appetizer selections to try. One, bruchetta was very good. Another, grilled asparagus wrapped in Serrano ham with Romesco sauce, made a healthy choice even more delightful. For entrees, the specialties are seafood and grilled meats--we concentrated on the seafood on this particular evening. I tried their famous lobster tacos--very rich and delicious with avocado slices and lemony hollandaise sauce (the gourmet version of the
Baja fish taco!).

My husband ordered the grilled whole perch, a signature dish called Pescado Vallarta, which is served skewered, angled up dramatically from the platter. It was delicious and there was plenty to share. Perch, however is very boney--the only drawback.
Dessert
Sadly, we were not hungry enough for dessert, but one person in our group ordered the Casanova--an elaborate flaming coffee drink prepared tableside, and it was quite a show! If you are going, save room; I've heard the gelato and the chocolate banana bread pudding are excellent.
