Location and Property

Seven Miles outside of Sedona, but on the way into town coming north from Phoenix, the Kokopelli Inn is a modest 2 story motel along highway 179. The roads were under massive construction with little driveways marked for businesses during our stay, but otherwise it was quite convenient. There is a small lobby with gift shop area and several doors down there is a meeting room and a breakfast room. There is a clean swimming pool, but it's adjacent to the road and, therefore, not very private.

Service

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, but we didn't need much help as the room and amenities were fine. We did ask for and get good advice on where to dine and which sights to see in terms of some of the native Indian dwellings in the area. I asked for a room with a view and, although I wasn't promised one, sure enough Mr. Ram had put us in a room on 'the view side' facing two of the giant red rock outcroppings--Bell Rock and Courthouse Rock.

Food

The breakfast buffet was self serve with the exception of a waffle cook who worked 4 machines and would deliver a waffle to you upon request. Again, it was basic, but it was all we needed:  Coffee, tea, condiments, fruit, toast, several cereals, even fixins for pb&js!

Rooms

The motel is definitely basic but it is modern enough and our room was kept neat and clean. Our room had the standard motel layout with a little table and two chairs by the door, two queen beds, a low table for luggage, a bureau/entertainment center with cable t.v., and then an alcove with sink and closet area at the other end of the room next to a bathroom, which had a tub/shower and toilet. The room also had a small refrigerator and an in-room safe.
