Grazie - small bistro with great lunches and dinners offers gourmet breakfasts (review)

Golden Egg Omelet House - better than the average diner, huge selection of omelets, among many other choices, best h.m. cinnamon rolls! (review)

Marvin's - very small local favorite for breakfast and lunch (in good weather outside seating helps with customer overflow), breakfast is our favorite--huge portions, oh and milkshakes, too

Flour Chylde Bakery - not so much a restaurant as a bakery, the owners are expanding their meal selections; I'm fine with a pot of tea and any of their decadent pastries

Noah's Bagels - chain, but still good bagels, shmears, and tasty breakfast sandwiches (it doesn't hurt that Peet's is in the same building for really excellent coffee and tea)

Mary's Place - small hometown diner/coffee shop feel, good food and service, daily specials

Star - a large, bright diner with a regular clientele

IHOP - everyone knows IHOP--not gourmet, just good American breakfasts, lots of choices, carafes of coffee, hot chocolate for the kids

Coffee Shops - Just about any of the town's coffee shops are a good stop for a quick coffee and pastry (see page on Novato coffee spots)
