  1. Charles M. Schultz Museum - tribute to the beloved cartoonist and his creations--Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the whole gang, shultzmuseum.org

  2. Redwood Empire Ice Arena - also called "Snoopy's Home Ice," this indoor rink offers open skating, hockey, lessons, a place to host birthday parties, and it has a cozy cafe called the Warm Puppy

  3. Luther Burbank Home and Gardens - Greek Revival home, greenhouse, gardens available for free public viewing; this web site has history, information, photographs, and a good virtual tour to get you started, parks.sonoma.net

  4. Wells Fargo Center for the Arts - named for the famous horticulturist, this is the premier venue for performing arts in the North Bay; also at this location is the Museum of Contemporary Art, www.lbc.net

  5. Railroad Square Downtown - historic area turned to trendy shopping, dining, and lodging--see photos and map, railroadsquare.net

  6. Safari West - self proclaimed as "the spirit of Africa in the heart of the Wine Country," this private park (actually the home of Nancy and Peter Lang) is on 400 acres; visitors can take a 3 hour long guided safari ride and for those who want to continue their safari experience dining and lodging is available, SafariWest.com

  7. Annadel State Park - located on the eastern edge of Santa Rosa, this park covers a wide variety of terrains and offers hiking, a lake for fishing, spring wildflowers, and more on it's nearly 5,000 acres; web site describes each of the various hiking trails

  8. Spring Lake Park - this regional park is on 320 acres with a swimming lagoon on a 72 acre lake that allows some boating; camping is permitted in the summer months--see photos, sonoma-county.org

  9. Howarth Park - 152 acre community park with picnic areas, tennis courts, playground, amusements, animal farm, and 25 acre Lake Raphine, ci.santa-rosa.ca.us/

  10. Pacific Coast Air Museum - site has details on exhibits, photographs of the aircraft, an online gift shop, and information on the annual air show

 
  • Santa Rosa Downtown Market - the bounty of Sonoma County Wednesday nights all summer at 4th Street from B Street to D Street, srdowntownmarket.com

  • Santa Rosa County Fair - each year from late July to early August this enormous fair comes to the county seat; it includes animals, food exhibitions, great fair food, wine tasting, big name performers, arts and crafts, and more, sonomacountyfair.com
