When you walk in from the parking lot, Key West's Miami Subs Grill looks similar to a fast food restaurant. It's clean and light, with booths and tables and tile floors. You order at a counter and bus your own tables. The menu, however isn't just fast food--as newcomers we were happy to find gyros, wraps, a Greek veggie wrap, and cheese steaks, as well as burgers.
Food
Sandwiches can be bought separately or as a meal along with fries and a soda. Several of us tried the gyro sandwiches, which were good--soft bread, traditional seasoned meat, lettuce, and yogurt dressing. A Greek veggie wrap sandwich was a welcome alternative to meat with feta cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and dressing. The hamburgers, served on fresh
Kaiser rolls, were good sized and tasty.
Service
The counter service was very friendly--the place had more of a mom and pop feel than a restaurant chain. The food was ready quickly and we were glad we'd lucked upon this spot for a tasty, inexpensive meal.
