Frommer's - I have long respected Frommer's guide books and I find their online site is packed with information as well. The site offers an interactive map, email newsletter, travel discussions, package deals, tips, vacation info by location, and you can search for trip ideas based on activities or lifestyle preferences.
Fodor's - the home page features articles and travel tips, an interactive map, plus the basic tabbed menu: destinations, hotels, restaurants, travel wire, talk, booking trips, and how to buy their guides.
Rough Guides...Smooth Travel - map or search boxes connect you to locations, check travel talk postings, and funny travel pictures are amusing.
lonely planet "therefore I travel" - Worldguide and the interactive map help you find your location, the 'On the Road' section features good articles, and I like browsing their "postcards" which are actually traveler tips and warnings posted by readers.
Let's Go: The Leader in Budget Travel - good articles appear in 'The Travel Scoop', purchase their books online, or book your trip through the site (you can search for inexpensive lodgings at hostels).
Barnes & Noble - their online bookstore has a large selection of travel guides and you can read what their editors, the publishers, the critics, and the customers have said about them.
Amazon.com - has a great page on the best travel guides with lots of links plus prices and ordering information.
